New titles in libraries of AGGF and FBN

Ambassador of Japan in BaH, H.E. Masami Kinefuchi, awarded a donation of 60 books to Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (AGGF) and Faculty of Security Studies (FBN) of Banja Luka university on 14 May 2024.

This donation of the policy research Foundation “Read Japan Project” from Tokyo comes after last year’s invitation of the government of Japan for donation of Japanese textbooks and technical books translated into English language.

Rector of the Banja Luka university, Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, thanked the government of Japan for the support they extend through scholarships and also a number of other projects. As rector pointed out, there is space for strengthening the cooperation between University of Banja Luka and Japanese high education institutions. He said that teams from Banja Luka university and Japan universities have worked on joint projects and the results of their activity were
successfully published in relevant international magazines.

According to Japanese ambassador, this donation comes from one of the best-known NGOs in Japan, that donated about 100 books to University of Banja Luka in the previous period. The ambassador hopes that exchange of staff and students would deepen the knowledge about Japan and expand the cooperation. The embassy of Japan also plans other cultural events, such as opening a Japan film festival in Banja Luka.

The Dean of FBN, Prof. Predrag Ceranic, PhD, thanked for the donation and expressed the interest in exchange of experiences and knowledge in the disaster field of security. The Vice-dean of AGGF, Prof. Maja Milic-Aleksic, PhD, thanked for the book donation that will enable students to get acquainted with architecture styles in Japan and expressed interest to cooperate with faculties and universities from Japan. Vice-dean of the FBN, Prof. Velibor Lalic, PhD, also attended the handover held in Rectorate of the University of Banja Luka. At the end, Prof. Bojana Grujic, PhD, shared her experiences of the 3 rd cycle of studies in Japan and thanked the government of Japan for the scholarships for foreign students.
