Reception on the Occasion of the Day of the Republic of Srpska and Saint Sava Day

The reception at the University of Banja Luka on the occasion of the Day of the Republic of Srpska and the Day of Saint Sava was held on 27 January 2023 at the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Banja Luka.

,,In the past period, we had strong support from the Republic of Srpska, and it will remain so in the future. I'm sure you know how important that support is, from the establishment of the faculty to the improvement of working conditions and student standards, in all of this we had the selfless support of the Republic of Srpska authorities”, Rector Gajanin said.

,,What is important for us in the field of higher education is that thanks to the effort and commitment of the Republic of Srpska, we got this University Campus, where, in addition to the existing infrastructure, we have been constructing and are constructing new facilities", Gajanin explained.

Minister for Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society of the Republic of Srpska Željko Budimir, PhD, pointed out that Serbs, celebrating Saint Sava, build a bridge between spiritual and intellectual traditions.

,,What all universities and all schools need is to celebrate the people who laid the foundations of enlightenment and higher education, and that is certainly the personality of Saint Sava.", Minister Budimir said.

He pointed out that it is important to send a message of unity, but also to remind of the values that our ancestors fought for - for society, education and the entire community.

During this reception, Nikola Ožegović, PhD, Senior Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Banja Luka, talked about the life and works of Saint Sava in his address. In addition to the Rector's Team, representatives of the relevant ministry, members of the Senate and Management of the University of Banja Luka, members of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Republic of Srpska, the Council for Higher Education, the reception was attended by representatives of the Students’ Parliament of the University of Banja Luka, the Union of Students of the Republic of Srpska, heads of study programmes, secretaries of University members, as well as numerous professors and teaching assistants of our higher education institution.
