Exhibition of Mapped Monuments of the People’s Liberation War

The exhibition "Architecture. Sculpture, Remembrance. The Art of Monuments of Yugoslavia 1945–1991" was opened on 11 December 2023 at the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Banja Luka.

Approximately sixty mapped monuments of the People’s Liberation War (Yugoslavia) are displayed at the exhibition, which define the landscape of memories from the entire Yugoslav area and beyond.

Local curators of the exhibition in Banja Luka, Asst. Prof. Igor Kuvač, PhD, Una Okilj, MA, and Sonja Rapajić contribute to the mapping of monuments by adding two new monuments from the Krajina region, authored by Marijan Kocković, namely: Monument to the Fallen Fighters of the National Liberation War from Drvar 1967 and “Partisan Mother” Monument in Novi Grad 1964, published on the website Faculty of Political Science of the University of Banja Luka

The opening of the exhibition at the Faculty of Political Science was attended by Minister for Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education Asst. Prof. Željko Budumir, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, Prof. Saša Čvoro, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Political Science Prof. Ranka Perić Romić, PhD, Asst. Prof. Igor Kuvač, PhD, and many professors and students.
