The goal | ||||
Acquiring knowledge about the characteristics of parking and their impact on the transport system, the organization of parking spaces and the design of parking lots and public garages. Understanding the issue of vehicle parking in urban areas and its impact on the transportation system. Determining parking needs. Training for independent work in the field of organization and design of parking spaces. Development of plans for optimal organization of passenger and truck parking. | ||||

Urban and transportation basics. Determining the needs of stationary traffic. Functions analysis, content zoning. The concept and significance of parking in urban agglomerations. Parking characteristics. Programming, planning and design. Parking systems, organization and management. Types of parking lots and parking facilities. Design elements of the parking lot, ways of parking back and forth, dimensions of parking spaces, widths of access lanes. Street and off-street parking. Parking garages, role and significance. Garage capacities, budget and conceptual-program design of garages. Types of parking garages and their operation. Internal organization system. Connection to the street network, design elements, ramps. Special purpose parkings, bus stations and truck depots. Shopping malls, sports facilities, airports. Landscaping, preparation and construction of facilities and installations. Construction of parking lots, materials and technologies. Pavement structure, drainage, signalization, lighting, safety equipment. Parking lots for bicycles and motorcycles, special constructions. Operating costs, parking management. The student is obliged to attend classes and perform and defend the annual task. Knowledge tests during the semester (colloquium) are not repeated. The final exam is held within the exam deadlines. For a student who did not attend the knowledge tests during the semester or did not achieve a passing result (at least 51% of the points provided for the knowledge test), as the first part of the final exam will be organized a knowledge test that he did not attend or did not pass. If a student has more than 3 absences he must re-enroll the subject | ||||
