The goal
The objective of the course is to develop knowledge and skills for dealing with the problems of shaping the urban composition. The course deals with the basic principles of composing the architectural and urban structure from the aspect of shaping the urban form and patterns of the use of open urban spaces. Students are introduced to the fundamental elements of the city's spatial structure and the most important factors that affect its visual identity, readability and integral value in relation to the local context and the city as a whole.
The outcome
The learning outcomes of the course are: 1) Mapping and analysis of elements of the urban structure, such as spatial units, spatial patterns, spatial dominants; 2) mapping and analysis of dominant patterns of use of open urban spaces; 3) Mapping and analysis of the basic characteristics of the urban composition, such as the symmetry, harmony, rhythm, balance and color; 4) Defining the concept of urban composition based on spatial analyzes and recognizing their mutual relation; 5) Design of urban composition through three-dimensional variant modeling; 6) Graphical presentation of the design proposal for the segment of urban space.
