The goal | ||||
Theoretical foundations and necessary practical knowledge of rigid and deformable body mechanics, as well as analysis of simple line girders.
The outcome | ||||
Understanding the essential laws and methods of rigid and deformable body mechanics. Development of creativity and ability to independently formulate and solve engineering problems. Ability to recognize the mechanical behavior of solid deformable materials and structures.
Contents | ||||
Basic terms. Force analysis. Statics of a material point. Rigid plate statics. Line girders. Forces in the cross-section of line girders. Truss girders. Axial stress. Geometric characteristics of the cross-section. Beam exposed to bending. Shear stresses during bending. Deflection of bent beams. Clean shear. Mohr's circle of stresses. Pressed beam stability-Euler's theory.
Methods of teaching | ||||
Independent preparation and defense of annual assignments during the semester is mandatory. The deadline for defending annual assignments is the beginning of next semester. Students who do not pass the colloquia during the semester, take remedial colloquia in terms of regular exam period.
