Enable understanding of important laws and methods of Mechanics, with emphasis on statics. Develop creativity and ability to understand, formulate and solve engineering problems independently. | ||||

Student is able and competent to analyze and solve problems of mechanics of deformable body and systems of plane frame and truss structures. | ||||

Introduction. Fundamental terms. Bernoulli-Euler hypothesis. Reference strains of the beam axis. Thermic strain. Section forces. Coordinate transformation. Differential equations of equilibrium. Solution procedure. Independent kinematic and strain quantities. Elements of a structure. Static classification. Compatibility conditions. Kinematic classification. It is compulsory to solve and defend 2 project assignments during the semester. The projects must be submitted and defended by the start of next semester. If the students do not pass colloquiums during the semester, they can take correctional colloquiums during the regular examination period. |
