The goal
Subject is familiar with the principles of human aspects of designing for a group of special users. The main objectives of the course are to familiarize students with theoretical knowledge of the structures and division of human interactions on human-area relations with a particular emphasis on engineering aspects that deal with quality and architectural parameters and architectural elements.
The outcome
After completion of the course students will gain: insight into interdisciplinary theoretical settings of the complex concept of comfort, as the main carrier of human spatial interactions and the application of its hierarchical structure; the ability to identify that the application of the qualitative aspects of human development of the built environment; the skill of applying the parameters of the comfort and the corresponding architectural elements in the design process; ability to evaluate the quality of real spaces in relation to architectural parameters; determining the level of satisfaction of a space through its humane aspects
Contents
The theoretical part of the course the following topics will be addressed: History; Psycho-socio-local condition of humanization of the built environment, concept of comfort; Normative and technical-technological aspects; Architecture as the principle of structure construction; The philosophical, sociological and psychological aspect of the problem; Physical and spatial-formal comforts; Existential-affective comforts; Social-communication comforts; Cultural significance; Parameters and architectural elements of comfort; Application of architectural parameters in the design process; Evaluation of the quality of the real space in relation to the parameters of the architectural comfort; designing and determining the degree of satisfaction of a space through its human aspects
Methods of teaching
Interactive teaching process through lectures, art workshops and exercises. Continuous design and creation of high quality graphic annexes implies individual research of the concept of humanization of the built environment by the concept of comfort.
