Students are invited to take part at the International ‘Banja Luka 2018 Model United Nations’ Conference (MUN), organized for the fifth time by the Students’ Club of the Faculty of Political Sciences, the University of Banja Luka.
The MUN represents a unique simulation of decision-making process and policy of the United Nations, to be held in the city of Banja Luka on 18-22 October 2018.
The deadline is 14 October 2018, with persons aged 18-35 eligible for the event.
The Conference gathers over 50 highly-motivated students and young professionals of diverse academic interests from all over the world, providing them with an exclusive opportunity to get acquainted with the workings and structure of the United Nations Committees.
As far as the simulation itself is concerned, it implies debates about topical issues from the world of diplomacy within the context of three committees (Committee on Human Rights, Security Council, and Press Committee. The delegates/participants are supposed to assume the responsible roles of representing the current member countries of the respective committees.
The Conference aims at adopting a resolution in written form representing a solution to a staged problem, as well as at providing evidence that the delegates/participants have acquired the necessary skills and knowledge for achieving the aforementioned goal. For that reason, the MUN provides the young willing to excel in the world of diplomacy with an opportunity to learn and improve their skills.
This year's edition of the MUN is supported by the University of Banja Luka, the City Administration of Banja Luka, the Government of the Republic of Srpska, the Embassy of the Republic of France to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Srpska, as well as by numerous organizations and institutions from the country and the region of the former Yugoslavia.
